First Veterinary Visit to KVH

Bandit had his first visit to the Kenmore Veterinary Hospital today. Dr. Sharma, our regular vet, is out of town for the week so Bandit saw Dr. Norton. Dr. Norton has two blue merle Australian Shepherds of her own. Bandit is perfectly healthy in every way, and Dr. Norton was quite impressed with the records kept by his breeder, and the MDR-1 information that we were given by Jamie. Bandit was a little fussy with having his temperature taken, getting his ears checked, and having his heart listened to. He weighed 8.5 pounds. Dr. Norton opened a little can of food and gave Bandit tiny bits throughout the exam to get him comfortable going to the doctor. He got lots of attention from the veterinary staff, and he got to meet two friendly pooches who were leaving as we arriving. He went nose-to-nose with a mini Schnauzer and a Pomeranian. Bandit was noisy for half the car ride going to the vet, and just complained loudly briefly on the ride home. Bandit goes back on June 23 at 11 a.m. for shots and to take in a stool sample. Dr. Norton also gave us some information about several places/people that offer puppy obedience.
